Super Bowl Feast & Madonna

I am happy to say that I successfully hosted my very first Super Bowl party! Food prep started last night only because I was working for the majority of the day and had about two hours to get everything ready before kick-off. Its surprising how much you can get done in the kitchen in just two hours, with help from my darling friends of course.

By the time I brought out my camera/cellphone to take a picture of the food; more than half of it was gone! I find seeing the bottom of the dish to be the highest form of flattery. Ha!

The feast consisted of:
Southwest Turkey Meatballs with Creamy Cilantro Dipping Sauce
Crock Pot Chicken Chili Taco
Baked Chicken Nuggets
Chicken Croquettes; the recipe calls for turkey, but I substituted it for chicken.
Nacho dip (my mothers recipe)

Trust me, this was definitely a cheat day for everyone.

As for the halftime show, Oh. My. Goodness. I had goosebumps the just after the first few notes of Madonna’s Vogue. Even after all these years, Madonna still has that ‘it’ factor. Yes everything was over the top, from her lavish golden headpiece, designed by Phillip Treacy, to the screens on the floor (at one point it seemed like the stage was floating in space — very Hogwarts like); but would you expect anything else coming from Madonna? The set was very much a mix of gladiator and Egyptian, it was a visual feast for the eyes. As for her outfits, they were all from Givenchy.

Madonna performed many of her classics along with her new single featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A, “Give me all your luvin'”
